The Leadership Institute for Teens (LIFT) is a cost-free leadership program for students in grades 9–12, partially funded by the Jordan Tanenbaum and Harold Winstead Family Fund.

Through interactive workshops, meaningful conversations, and hands-on experiences, students develop leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills while exploring the history of the Holocaust, other genocides, antisemitism, and contemporary issues of hate and justice. Participants hear firsthand stories from Holocaust survivors, descendants, and community leaders, connecting the lessons of history to the challenges of today.
Each session features a completely new lineup of speakers, discussions, and activities. Students ask questions, collaborate with peers from across Rhode Island, and leave every meeting with practical skills and the confidence to create positive change in their schools and communities.
Whether you’re returning to LIFT or joining for the first time, we hope you’ll be part of this exciting new cohort.
Meets two Monday evenings each month, 6:00–8:00 p.m. (subject to change). Dinner is provided. Current dates: October 5 & 19, November 2, 16 & 30, December 14, January 11 & 25, February 8 & 22, March 1 & 22, and April 5 & 12.
