Join Holocaust historian Laura Auketayeva, Ph.D., Director of Education and Programs at the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center, for a virtual lecture on Zoom exploring the rich and complex world of Jewish Lublin before World War II. Through survivor memoirs, photographs, maps, and historical research, the program will explore Jewish daily life in Lublin, from bustling streets and marketplaces to synagogues, schools, political debates, and cultural institutions. The lecture will also examine the role of Lublin as a center of Jewish scholarship, Hasidism, and communal life before the Holocaust.
