In conversation with Dr. Laura Auketayeva, Dwork will discuss her acclaimed new book, Saints and Liars: The Story of Americans Who Saved Refugees from the Nazis. Through letters, diaries, and personal accounts, Dwork uncovers the little-known stories of American relief and rescue workers who, long before the U.S. entered the war, risked everything to help Jews and dissidents escape Nazi persecution.
